Warm rose and red-purple tones emerge through a thick white Shino glaze, set against areas of exposed, dark-fired clay. The image of Mount Fuji appears softly across the surface—not as a precise illustration, but as a form shaped by glaze, heat, and movement.

Hayashi Shotaro extends the language of Momoyama Shino through forceful construction, generous feldspathic glaze, and an unusually broad range of color.

The irregular rim and divided foot give the cup a grounded, almost rock-like presence. Pink, cream, charcoal, and rust gather in uneven layers, allowing the landscape to shift as the vessel turns in the hand.

Vesper selected this work for the balance between its powerful form and unexpectedly tender color. The red-purple surface remains expressive without overwhelming the quiet scale of the guinomi.

An intimate work whose character develops through close viewing and repeated handling. It can be appreciated both as a functional sake cup and as a compact landscape in clay.
